LotRO: Fellowship Walk continues

A Casual Stroll to Mordor is participating in the Child’s Play Charity and wanting to raise $5000.00. Everytime a new goal towards the $5k is reached, they get ingame and walk to a new destination along the path Frodo took from Bag End to Rivendell. Here we are in front of the Prancing Pony where we celebrated with a bit of flash mob dancing, Middle Earth style.

Last night we walked from the Pony to the Forsaken Inn as they’ve reached the halfway mark in donations, $2500.00!

Child’s Play Charity donates toys and games to sick children in hospitals all over the United States. A couple of folks who are participating in the ingame walks told us how they, as children, had dealt with long hospital stays. They said having a game, a toy, something to do to get their minds off why they were there … it meant the world to them. I don’t have chat bubbles on but if I did, you’d see in each group shot a bunch of folks saying “For Baby Hobbits”.

I can’t tell you how cool it is to turn my cam around and watch the long line of people as we walk from one destination to another, knowing we’re banding together in support of Child’s Play. It puts a smile on my face and is an immediate reminder of how awesome gamers can be. Gamers rock! Once $3k has been raised the Fellowship Walk will depart from the Forsaken Inn and head to Weathertop. I’m so glad I rolled on Landroval for this event and can’t wait until we reach Rivendell. I have a few fireworks saved up just for it!
